On Wednesday City of Long Beach Animal Care Services put out a plea for help as they were at capacity (), and they received a lot of complaints about operating off 'appointment only' is a problem (which i tend to agree with) and that's why they are having capacity concerns. If you are looking for a pet and feel the connection you receive when seeing that pet is a driving force in the adoption process, I urge you to attend and share this venue. If the shelter receives a significant outpouring for help and support from their community, and they see successful adoptions, it will make valid case evidence to move forward with returning to a 'public walk in' schedule and mitigate the bottle-necking of intakes. Fill your heart and empty our shelter on 7700 E Spring St, Long Beach, CA 90808 Date: Thu, Sep 30 at 12 PM PDT Duration: 4 hr No appointments are necessary for your visit! Be prepared: • Adoptions will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis. • Gather your payment. Cash and credit cards are accepted. • Be patient. It may take a little longer than usual between each adopter. • Plan ahead. Leave your pets at home. Safety is our #1 Priority: • Masks are required. Masks must cover your nose, mouth, and chin. All visitors must wear masks indoors and outdoors. • Not feeling well? Stay home. Stay home if you’re experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, or have been knowingly exposed to or diagnosed with Covid-19. • Outdoors & distanced. Adoptions will be processed outdoors, and social distancing is in effect. Follow all verbal, written, and posted instructions. Entry will be controlled for safety. • Clean & sanitized. Hand sanitizer will be available on site City of Long Beach Animal Care Services is looking for your help. They are exceeding capacity and had nowhere to put a stray dog last night that required safe sheltering. Email to foster a pet.
