Redstone is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician. We are currently hiring for a Full Time position with hours Tuesday - Saturday from 3pm - 11:30 pm. What will I do as an employee with Redstone? As a Maintenance Technician, supporting the Redstone mission will include the following responsibilities: Receives written work orders or verbal instructions and completes repairs. Conducts visual inspection of boilers, pumps, pipes, and mechanical equipment throughout the campus several times per day. Checks pressure and temperature meters (several times per day) and records data on paper log in binder (one time per day). Reports any leakage, extremes in temperature in the equipment rooms, or anything unusual to the supervisor. Conducts monthly fire drills. To be conducted per regulations requires and documents results. Confirms that automatic locks and alarms are working properly on a daily basis. Conduct water temperature checks in resident areas, randomly throughout campus, three times per week and document results. Temperature must not exceed regulated set limits. Maintains and repairs plumbing and electrical systems throughout the building, including unclogging drains and replacing worn or defective parts such as light bulbs, switches, fuses, ballasts or washers, and working with very high voltages 120 to 480 volts. Perform PM on all equipment per manufacturing recommendations. Maintains and repairs heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, food service, nursing, and laundry equipment. Operates snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks What do I need for this role with Redstone? Three to six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania State driver's license in good standing, free of traffic violations as per policy. Certificate from college or technical school in a program that specializes in equipment repair, HVAC, and/or construction trades is preferred. HVAC certification preferred. Must be able to regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, which is generally tools and equipment for making repairs (i.e., ladders, buckets of paint or materials, sacks of cement, etc.). Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds when pushing carts loaded with materials or tools, moving furniture or assisting residents in/out of the van.
