Driver's License (Required) Full Job Description *Green Event Ninjas is recruiting a team of Recycling Ninjas to assist with the recycling and composting initiatives for the New York Vegandale Food & Drink Festivals that would be taking place at various parks around new york this season. *Our goal is to help make the events as enjoyable as possible for attendees by keeping the grounds clean, and as eco-friendly as possible by implementing a recycling initiative. We’ll also be cleaning up the grounds after the event. WAGE: $28.00 /hr (USD) DATES: Sat, Sep. 25, 2021 - Mon, Sep. 30, 2021 Daytime/evening shifts available. WHERE: Randall’s Island Park (20 Randalls Island Park, New York, NY) Lake Ronkonkoma County Park (Lake Shore Rd, Lake Ronkonkoma, NY) Lakeland County Park (Johnson Ave, Islandia, NY) RESPONSIBILITIES: DURING EVENT CLEAN-UP: Recycling Ninjas will be picking up loose litter on the ground and working with the Green Event Ninjas team and fellow Recycling Ninjas to clear the venue and vending areas. This task involves bending, consolidating large bags of recycling and refuse, and lifting bags onto push carts, golf carts and trailers. Recycling Ninjas may also be asked to spend a portion of their shift hand-sorting the recycling waste streams to maximize the event’s total waste diversion from landfill. This task involves periods of standing, opening bags and sorting their contents, and lifting bags. All appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided (i.e. protective gloves, face masks, etc.). POST-EVENT CLEAN-UP: Recycling Ninjas will work with the Green Event Ninjas team members and fellow Recycling Ninjas to clear the venue and vending areas of all event litter and patron debris. This position entails walking, bending, lifting and handling event waste and recycling. CAUTION: *Please note that this event takes place outdoors. It may be hot and/or it may rain. Recycling Ninjas are expected to dress for the weather (e.g. rain or shine, warm or cool). Water will be provided, in addition to scheduled breaks and lunch for longer shifts. Uniforms in the form of a cotton T-Shirt will be provided.
