He is neutered and up to date on his rabies vaccine. He has your standard stubborn hound dog personality, howls/bays when he hears or sees something. Does not howl excessively at all. He can be timid with new people but in a short time will give in and become playful and goofy. Deep down he’s a very sensitive pup. Will do best with stern positive reinforcement. He knows basic commands (sit, shake, stay), I know he would love to learn new tricks with someone who’s patient to teach him. He is an indoor dog and loves laying on the couch relaxing by your side or he will find his own quiet corner. Perfectly house trained will not have any accidents inside. Must find a home with a fenced yard, home must not have cats he will chase them, prefer home without kids but if there’s kids must be mature and calm nature. Rambunctious kids make him uneasy and nervous, would do best in a relaxed quieter home. Chente does great with other dogs, he can play rough but isn’t aggressive. Tends to act aggressive with dogs that bark at him on leash from a distance or behind a fence but when loose with other dogs or greeting other dogs he’s normal and playful. Loves to go on walks but tends to pull, so he uses a head harness which gives you more control on the walks and prevents him from choking himself. More leash training manners would not hurt for him. He gets very uncomfortable and scared with certain noises or objects, it’s been a work in progress with people riding their bikes in the distance or close proximity he would begin to cower or want to run in the opposite direction, calm positive communication with him is helpful when on leash but not perfect. Also strollers, shopping carts he is the same way. Progress not perfection is our motto. He’s been that way since a puppy but has shown slight progress. In the yard he will love to play fetch, is pretty good about bringing the ball back and dropping it when asked too. Looking for a forever home for him due to our living situation changing. Not in a rush to find him a home we want to be sure that whoever offers him their home knows exactly how he is before committing. We are requiring a home check and introduction to be sure it’s going to be a good fit. If you have any questions or would like to meet him feel free to reach out. If interested shoot me an email and tell me about yourself and living environment. Look forward to connecting.
