Description

PLEASE DO NOT FLAG! Unlike many of the backyard breeder puppies listed here, this dog is TRULY in need. :( Sweet senior Ollie has been waiting to find a home for over three months in an overcrowded shelter. Even though all indications pointed to this guy having an owner despite not being microchipped, no one ever came for him. This poor guy is being overlooked due to his age and size. At 8.5 years old and weighing in at 62lbs, he continues to watch smaller, cuter, younger dogs get adopted while he's just left to sit in his kennel and hope that it'll be his turn one day. Diamond's Friends wants to help Ollie get his happily ever after. We'd love to get him into a foster to adopt home (or just straight up adopted) with people who are willing to love him and help him learn the finer points in life, but we need that special someone to step up for this guy to make it happen! Ollie is described as easy going. He can be playful but indifferent to other dogs. He has been kenneled with a few different dogs during his time at the shelter and done fine with them, watching them all get adopted while he continues to wait for someone to choose to love him. He could use a little fine tuning in terms of walking on a leash and basic obedience (and will likely need some help with potty training, 3 months in a shelter isn't exactly a recipe for a house-trained dog). His ideal home will be willing to help him learn how to be his best self, take him on long walks, and just give him a nice retirement where he can enjoy soft beds. If this sounds like you (or you know of someone looking to help a dog like Ollie), please get in touch.
