Salt and Pepper colored Cat Found and Buried

I have a cat that is salt and pepper in color with large areas of white on his legs and tummy. This morning I was driving west on NW 36th Street and passed a deceased cat laying in the road. My cat got out of the house yesterday evening and I had not seen him this morning. I pulled over to look at the cat in the road because he was the same color as mine. His body was on NW 36th, just east of Meridian, in the east bound lane. I was headed west. I truly thought that this cat was mine and so I picked him up and drove him home. He was still warm so he would have been hit and killed sometime this morning. When I got home, my cat was sitting on the porch. I'm posting this because the cat that I pick up probably belongs to someone that is looking for him, and I would like to let you know that I've buried him under a large tree and he was held and loved before he was buried. I am so sorry for whoever has lost this cat but he was taken care of and he is buried in a quiet spot. The cat had a large white covering on his tummy, and on his hind legs. His back and other portions of his legs were salt and pepper in color. He looked to be about 2 years old. There was an easement that led into a neighborhood just east of where this cat was laying in the road, and I imagine that his owner more than likely lives in that neighborhood.
