Featuring the Friends of CIS and SABG Partnership
Join us as we reconnect with Friends, hear updates from CIS leadership, and learn about the Friends of CIS and San Antonio Botanical Garden partnership, which provides nature-based programs for CIS students. An optional tour of the Garden's Frida Kahlo Oasis exhibition will be held at 5:00 p.m.
As part of this event, we are collecting new shoes to benefit students at Gilbert Elementary School in Harlandale ISD. Please consider bringing a new pair of children's shoes (any size and color) to donate.
Indoor seating provided for presentation. Safety protocols will be in place in accordance to CDC guidance.

Friends of Communities In Schools (CIS) is a group of diverse and influential community members with a common passion for supporting and empowering students to graduate and achieve in life. Friends of CIS was established in 2009 when a group of Friends sounded a call to action. Responding to a news headline, they wrote: “San Antonio a dropout factory… Not on our watch.” Since then, Friends of CIS has organized to be a sounding call for the great work that CIS does in our schools, in our city and in our nation. Today, Friends continues their efforts to build a community of support for students.
