Description
My dog, Country, used to roam the streets of Berkeley late at night while I smoked on the porch. But beside that he would stay within our 10th of an acre yard.
We've moved and have three times the yard. But, he just won't stay. It's about 9 years old as a rescue dog when he was 2.
He's a bluetick hound German shorthaired pointer mix.
He smiles when you get home.
He just needs a place he can roam.
About a month ago I spent $2,400 on fixing his butthole.
He's all up to date on shots and everything.
He loves to spin around quick I believe from the cattle dog in him.
He's actually a great dog and I don't want to drop him off at the pound. But I don't have the resources to put a tall enough and/or wooden fence that he can't climb because he can climb chain link fence. I realized I spoiled him by letting him run around Berkeley.
He likes to kill rodents of the larger variants. He loves a butt rub. Really, he just wants to be your best friend. Unfortunately, as stated, it's just too much with the escape stuff.
So he really needs a yard bigger than even an acre, or atleast a tall fence.
This is a mixed feeling for me. I love County. He's great with my 3 and 4 year old... Other dogs bark right in his face and doesn't budge, but seen him put a pit to the ground, neck in mouth. He sucks for walking because that hunting nose is strong.
Super great camping companion. He'll snort around the camp all night keeping the cyote and others away.
He'll roll in dead fish though, if brought to the lock n damn...
Good dog. Name's County for a reason.
