Job Description A local, small pet care company that is working to grow and build our brand. We are looking for qualified, pet-loving dog walkers to help maintain our top-notch service. This role is great for animal lovers with availability during the weekday. Specifically many of the walks are scheduled between Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM. The ideal candidates are willing to go the extra mile and show unconditional love to our client's pets. This is not a full-time job. If hired we can guarantee 1-2 walks a day, with the opportunity for more work as our customer base continues to grow. The right candidate will have reliable transportation, be at least 18 years of age, have good problem-solving skills, and have a positive attitude. Previous skills or experience in 4H/FFA/farm, veterinary, agricultural, or in the industry is a plus. Some customer service experience is helpful, and a strong work ethic and good communication skills are required. The Role Work with dogs (some cats, a few birds) and be invested in their care Water, feed, walk and take dogs to the bathroom according to instructions Follow all safety precautions, be detail-oriented and cautious Lift up to 50 pounds Be on your feet and walk for over 75% of the shift Take direction and ask for clarification when needed Clean kennels, crates, floors, and pet dishes as needed Give baths and perform basic grooming functions as requested We are looking for the following positions Midday dog walkers Morning/Evening dog walkers Morning/Evening/Weekend pet sitters Overnight Sitters Occasional pet errands and pet taxi services Job Type Part-Time Number of hire for this role 2+ Salary Starting at $13 per appointment Qualifications You’ll be a great fit for this role if you... Love for pets and a passion for animal care Previous experience working with dogs Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Physically fit and able to complete multiple moderate to lengthy walks per day Live within approximately 20 minutes of downtown Houston Have a smartphone, as we have an app to send clients to visit reports and pics of their pets at visits Willing to travel, service areas include: Med Center, Midtown, Montrose, Galleria, and Heights Time management is key to successfully complete walks within assigned time frames Being punctual helps keep pet parents happy, being 15 minutes late can throw off the entire day Honest and Trustworthy candidates Customer service experience Location Must live within 25 minutes of downtown Houston Work authorization United States COVID-19 considerations: We are respectful in clients' homes and apartment buildings, and use appropriate measures of protection.
