Description

We'll teach you important tasks in the garden to keep it looking good during the Winter months and primed for Spring emerging. The mountains of western North Carolina typically are blessed with abundant weather in the Winter and Spring that prevent us from being able to be digging and working in the garden. By taking advantage of this time in the Fall when the weather is a dryer and temperatures are cooler, we can get ahead to make it simple and more enjoyable as March and April roll around. We will cover:  How to cut back and divide perennialsPlanting and transplanting tree and shrubsPlanting spring blooming bulbsLeaves and mulch pros and consWinter interestWe will be working mostly outside so dress for the weather. This is a rain or shine event. Saturday, October 23rd from 1-4pm Cost: $50.00 for one individual or $75.00 for 2 or more Class size limited to 12 so register early as this one is likely to fill up. Annie & Jeff Menzer have been gardening in the mountains for 20+ years. They love to support the use of native plantings and available materials, while creating beautiful well-tended home garden spaces.
