Description
Showing young men what they can be in a formal, intergenerational setting! Frederick Douglas said, “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” It is in that spirit that I invite you to the Men of Excellence Black Tie Formal, hosted by Rosemont Human Services, Bottom Rebuilders, and yours truly. This event will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Jackson Metropolitan Ministerial Fellowship School for Workforce Development, located at 3171 Robinson Road (behind Chuk Stop) in Jackson. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. We are thrilled to have Institute for Democratic Education in America Executive Director Albert Sykes as keynote speaker, and entertainment from Comedian & Motivational Speaker Henry Sapp out of Grand Rapids, Michigan! This program has a two-fold purpose: to inspire and motivate boys and young men by showcasing men from the community in a formal setting and to fundraise for the Fellowship School for Workforce Development. Men of Excellence Black Tie Formal encourages you to bring a young man with you. While this program is targeted toward men, we invite women to sponsor their husbands or other men from the community by giving a contribution. Contributions will help to cover expenses for the event as well as support the Fellowship’s endeavor to develop a facility that will train young people from across the city of Jackson in various trades and help them to become productive citizens. We hope you’ll join and support this awesome event by sending a check to Rosemont Human Services, 3930 Officer Thomas Catchings Drive, Jackson, MS 39209 or via cashapp to $zsummcash. Any amount is welcomed. In addition, any man or young man in need of formal attire should call Ms. Brenda Carpenter at (601) 355-3121. There is no cost for entry, but donations are encouraged. Thank you in advance for your love. For more information, please contact Ms. Carpenter at the number above or me at 601-955-9761 or via email at [email protected].
