We are currently monitoring the mask mandates for KCMO and will contact our attendees regarding October updates. Families will also be expected to pay gaming costs as they feel comfortable. Autism Society - The Heartland will not be purchasing game tickets for families. This a social group for tweens and teens with autism, ages 11-16, who are able to participate in social events with some supervision. This group meets monthly, sometimes virtually and sometimes in person. The Autism Society-The Heartland is focusing on the whole person and the family. We support families and individuals with autism by providing resources, advocacy and educational tools. We are creating opportunities for training, self advocacy and support. In 2019 we are planning to add more to our services, for example, Employment Opportunities, Adult Services, and activities for the ladies, continue our Just Like You- Autism Film promotion, as well as continuing to collobrate with area service providers. We encourage you to sign up for our emails, volunteer at events when available, LIKE our Facebook page, Autism Society-The Heartland, share with family and friends, and help us help you by finding opportunities to raise funds. All funds raised stay local and go right into supporting our community. Autism Society-The Heartland received the 2015 Affiliate of the Year Award from the National Autism Society. Autism Society-The Heartland received a 2015 Regional Mid-West EMMY Award for the Just Like You Autism Film. The Autism Society-The Heartland is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our organization is fully funded by private donations,  matching gift donations, and donations from events from the community. We do not receive state funding from Kansas or Missouri.
