Join us at Rohi's Readery for an exciting local author signing and activity with incredible educator and author Veronica Green! Veronica's latest book, Veggie Vero & the Fall Harvest Celebration, tells us the story of when a little turkey wanders into the town of KalesVille seeking help for his family, and Veggie Vero knows just what to do. Armed with tasty treats and heart-felt wisdom, this plant based superhero reminds the people that a joyful celebration should be rooted in love and kindness to all. About the incredible author: Since 2016, author Veronica Green has been making her mark in South Florida by publishing children’s books that cater to the growing vegan community. After adapting a completely plant based diet, Veronica felt compelled to share the benefits of this lifestyle with others. She decided to combine her lifelong passion of writing with her new-found passion of veganism. Her book series, The Adventures of Veggie Vero, is about a superhero who rescues animals and teaches children about conscious living. “Conscious living”, says Veronica, “is about being aware of how our daily choices affect the natural world and making an effort to reduce our ecological footprint. Eliminating our support of animal products is one of the quickest ways to reduce that footprint.” Veronica includes a recipe at the end of each book and encourages families to explore the plant based versions of their favorite meals. Veronica's mission is to empower children with knowledge so they may grow to make conscious and compassionate choices. She says "Children are the future, plain and simple. We cannot accurately envision a kind and sustainable future while still feeding our children the byproducts of pain and suffering." In addition to publishing books, Veronica is a certified educator with the Eastern Region Association of Forest & Nature Schools (ERAFANS). She pursued this training to extend her knowledge and ability to foster a lifelong curiosity of nature in children. She can often be found teaching workshops and various programs at the Delray Beach Children's Garden. Veronica's most recent project is a Fall Harvest book that explores the true meaning of Thanksgiving and explains how a small shift can make this holiday kinder and more inclusive for all.
