Press release from the Town of Falmouth: September 7, 2021 Regular season operations have ended for the Beach Dept. Details about access and services moving forward are listed below: There will be no parking attendants or lifeguards until 2022, with the exception of Old Silver, which may be staffed (weather and personnel availability-permitting) from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on weekends only for the month of September.Beach parking lots are unlocked and open to the public, without parking stickers being checked or daily fees collected, with the exception of Old Silver Beach. Parking stickers may be checked and daily fees collected at Old Silver Beach when staffed -- 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on weekends only (weather and personnel availability-permitting) -- for the month of September.Portable toilets will remain on-site until Wednesday, December 1, though the number of units at each beach will decrease on Saturday, October 2.The 3 Bathhouses at Old Silver and Surf Drive will be closed until 2022, with the exception of if Old Silver is staffed any of the next 3 weekends in September.Beach concessions will remain open at the discretion of the vendors.Trash and recycling will continue to be collected by DPW staff.Water wheelchair reservations are suspended until 2022.The Ellen T. Mitchell Bathhouse offices are closed until 2022. Questions and concerns normally brought forward by phone should instead be sent via e-mail to [email protected] water temperatures remain above 70° and patrons may encounter jellyfish in Falmouth waters, we recommend the following procedure for treating stings with mild symptoms: (1) rub wet sand on the site of the irritation (2) rinse (3) apply vinegar or meat tenderizer (4) repeat as necessary. If you have a more serious allergic reaction, seek professional medical attention.This summer was one to remember, and we wish all residents/taxpayers/visitors of Falmouth health and safety in the off-season.
