Description
HAMDEN, CT — Hamden's Fall Street Paving Program is underway, with more than 10 miles of road to be paved, Mayor Curt Balzano Leng and Public Works Director Craig Cesare announced.
The Legislative Council last month authorized Leng's proposal for the street paving program and appropriated capital funding accordingly.
"Keeping our streets safe and in good condition has always been a major focus of mine," Leng said in a news release. "That said, we've paved nearly 65 miles of roadway in the last six years – a huge portion of our town. I'm proud of this achievement and I know Hamden is better for it."
Hamden uses an "independent Pavement Condition Index (PCI) evaluation system, which rates all town roads on a scale from 0-100, to help guide which streets are most in need of improvement, along with traffic volume, location, weather damage and related information," the news release states.
The following is a list of streets expected to be paved in the 2021 Fall program.
