FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Tiki and Sazerac are two dogs who will soon be available for adoption at the Fredericksburg SPCA. Both dogs are currently positive for heartworm and are receiving treatment at the Locke Community Medical Center. Both Tiki and Sazerac are about 1 year old and are new arrivals at the Fredericksburg SPCA. Their treatment at the Locke Community Medical Center will save their lives, the SPCA said. "Tiki is already a survivor. Having come into the care of the Fred SPCA Heartworm +, she's been powering through her treatments in our Locke Community Medical Center with grace," the SPCA said. Her perfect evening includes a slow walk, a puppacino, and family time on the couch. Sazerac is another dog who is receiving heartworm treatment. He came to the Fredericksburg SPCA from Louisiana. They are currently 65 percent of the way to their goal. This Saturday, Sept. 25, the SPCA is hosting a drop-in vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Locke Community Medical Center at 10819 Courthouse Road. The clinic will offer heartworm preventatives, microchips, heartworm tests, tickborne illness tests, and FIV/FeLV testing for cats. Have a story idea?
