WOODBRIDGE, NJ — If you like living in Woodbridge Township and want to help make it an even cleaner and nicer place to live, join Mayor John McCormac and the Woodbridge "Green Team" in a Township-wide environmental clean-up this Saturday. This Saturday, Sept. 25 is National Public Lands Day. To mark the day, Woodbridge Twp. will host several local clean-ups. You do not need to sign up for any of these; just show up wearing sneakers and old clothes and ready to get dirty! One of these clean-ups also offers free kayaking on the Woodbridge River. 9:00 a.m. - noon.: Colonia Clean-Up at Charlie Shaughnessy Park, Inman Ave.& Amherst Ave., Colonia. 9:00 a.m. - noon: Spruce-up the Garden for the Blind, Iselin Branch Library, 1081 Green Street, Iselin. 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.: NPL Headline Event: Ernie Oros Wildlife Preserve, Omar Avenue, Avenel. 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Ernie Oros Wildlife Preserve & Woodbridge River Celebration at the Ernie Oros Wildlife Preserve, Omar Avenue, Avenel. FREE Festival... Kayak and Canoe the Woodbridge River with the NY/NJ Baykeeper... Food... Live Music. 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.: Sewaren Blue Acres Ecological Preserve (Corner of Arbor Street & Sewaren Ave.) Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Woodbridge Girl Scout Troops and DPW to plant 200 trees in the Blue Acres Ecological Preserve. Noon to 3 p.m.: Sewaren Free Library, Grand Re-Opening Celebration & Festival, 546 West Ave., Sewaren. Carnival-themed outdoor games… Food… Music… More.
