Here are the top stories in Denver today: Fall elections are coming and there are three statewide measures on the ballot as well as 13 City and County of Denver initiatives. Brush up on all the candidates and measures before you cast your vote. (303Magazine)The Denver library will be receiving dozens of historical Black Panther Party newspapers. The library has had nine newspapers available and due to a large interest, it is getting more. Jameka Lewis, a senior librarian at the American Studies Library, says there was a Black Panther Party branch in Denver, and the library intends to go through the newspapers to find references to Denver. (Eminetra)Eastbound lanes on Interstate 70 at Denver West had to be closed down on Thursday morning after the overpass was struck by a commercial vehicle. A CDOT crew investigated effects to the structural integrity of the bridge after some debris dropped into the I-70 eastbound lanes. (TheDenverChannel)A Lakewood woman lost her wallet containing her cash, credit cards, a blank check, and a diamond ring on Tuesday. Thankfully, good Samaritans went above and beyond to ensure her valuables were returned to her. They took several buses for the hours-long trip to make sure the wallet found its way back to Chrysandra Brunson. Now Brunson is trying to raise money to pay back the women for their priceless act. (Fox31)Disability advocates are speaking out about the homeless shelter at the Denver Coliseum. Advocates say conditions are dire for people with disabilities and say the requirements for care are not being met. After witnessing a disabled man in full seizure with no aid, John DeLeon with Servicios de la Raza has been "sounding the alarm" to the city with little response. Along with the conditions in the shelter, many are raising additional concerns as to the shelter's closure in December.
