MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Hello neighbors! Welcome to our weekly events roundup, where we tell you about what's happening in Mercer County. Here's are some events we think you might enjoy: Oktoberfest, Trenton: The German American Society is hosting Oktoberfest this Saturday, 12 p.m. – 9 p.m., 215 Uncle Pete's Road. Expect lots of music, fun, and contests. Acts include The Austrian Boys, Aqua String Band (mummers), and Union Rock Band. There will be a Best dressed Bavarian contest and Steinholding contest. Festival Cultural Latino 2021, Princeton: Join the Princeton Latino community to celebrate with an afternoon of music, dance, food, performances, arts & crafts, and family-friendly activities. will be held at the YMCA Princeton, Paul Robeson Pl on Saturday from 1 p.m. onwards. More details here. Sukkah Village 2021, Princeton: Princeton has built a Sukkah Village this year, for the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. A Sukkah is a hut-like temporary dwelling the Israelites lived in during their 40 years of wandering in the desert after escaping from Egypt, according to rabbinic tradition. The sukkahs are open to the public. The sukkahs are located across town and a whole lot of events have been planned for the public, like panel discussions, walking tours, a film screening, and a family-oriented arts and crafts gathering. New Jersey's Walk/Run for Recovery, Mercer County Park, West Windsor: The 9th Annual New Jersey's Walk/Run for Recovery will be held on Sept. 25, at the Mercer County Park. This year, the fundraising goal is $100,000. All proceeds will go directly into supporting and sustaining Recovery Advocates of America and participants that come into their care. You can also participate in the walk virtually if you're can't be present on Saturday. For more details and to register, click here. River Fest, Trenton Thunder Ballpark: River Fest is back this Saturday from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. The fun-filled day will feature craft beer, live music, lawn games, Case's Pork Roll food items, and the sixth annual World Famous Case's Pork Roll Eating Championship at 3:30 p.m. Joey Chestnut, the world's No. 1 ranked competitive eater, will look to defend his 2019 title when he consumed a world-record 61.5 Case's Pork Roll sandwiches.
