Description
SAN LEANDRO, CA — A wreck involving a box truck is causing traffic impacts on three interstates — and the mess is not expected to be fixed until 8 p.m., long after the evening commute.
The cause of the problem is a box truck that hit a crash barrier at the transition from southbound I-880 to I-238.
Cleanup and repairs are expected to take until 8 p.m.
In the meantime, big rigs will be allowed to use eastbound I-580 through Oakland.
The crash was reported shortly before 9 a.m., according to the CHP log. An earlier estimate that the roadway would reopen at 2 p.m. has been revised to 8 p.m.
