Description

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Village Board of Tinley Park adopted an ordinance that will allow for changes in village code for adult-use cannabis dispensaries at Tuesday evening's board meeting. The ordinance is an amendment to allow minor chances to zoning regulations for adult-use recreational cannabis dispensaries, according to village documents. This includes permitting dispensaries in multi-tenant structures, removing corridor restrictions, and allowing them as a special use in more zoning districts. The Plan Commission held a public hearing on Aug. 5 and voted 5-0 to recommend the proposed text amendments for approval to the Village Board. The amendment to the zoning code was discussed at the Sept. 7 Board of Trustees meeting, but was voted 6-0 to postpone the item to the next meeting after further review. The village board ultimately passed the amendment 3-2, with Trustees Dennis P. Mahoney, Michael G. Mueller and Colleen M. Sullivan voting yes, and Trustees William P. Brady and William A. Brennan voting against it. Trustee Diane M. Galante was absent.
