1 Person Killed In Coachella Crash

COACHELLA, CA — One person died and another was taken to a hospital as a result of a two-vehicle collision in Coachella Thursday. Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department responded at 8 a.m. to the fatal collision at the intersection Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 52. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find one victim dead and another in need of transportation to a hospital for minor injury treatment. Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department officials advised the public that Grapefruit Boulevard between avenues 52 and 53 would be closed for an undisclosed period of time and that resources would remain on the scene for approximately two hours. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
