Make Noise is now hiring for a Production Builder in Asheville, NC! FT HOURLY NON-EXEMPT, REPORTS TO TRAINER AND PRODUCTION ZONE Make Noise is a crew of artists and musicians creating synthesizers to explore, experiment, and discover the unfound sounds. Production Builders are a critical part of our Production Zone. They contribute to us making quality instruments through careful inspection of our materials and thoughtful build of our instruments and contribute to a positive joyful work environment by connecting with our crew. This position is ideal for those who are able to: maintain a high level of attention to detail, adapt well to learning new skills, communicate clearly, and thrive in a team environment. Bonus if electronic music brings you joy! This role collaborates most often with the other Production Builders, Technicians, and Shipping / Receiving. Important to note that prior experience is not required for this position! On the job training will be provided regardless of skill level. QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience not required Ability to handle small parts with dexterity and speed Thrives in a team environment Ability to give and receive feedback Desire to learn PRODUCTION BUILDER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Follow build priorities on job board Obtain materials for scheduled jobs Inspect materials for acceptable appearance before assembling Use correct components, in the correct locations, when assembling Understand and use the firmware programmers Restock workstations as needed Attend meetings as needed, including our weekly crew meeting Serialize, inspect, and pack instruments Participate in stock count-ins and inventory Shop cleanup as directed by the Facilities Manager PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Moving 25 lbs regularly, up to 50 pounds Ascend and descend stairs Stooping, kneeling and reaching overhead Dexterity and speed with small objects OTHER EXPECTATIONS: Be ready to work at 9:30 am Maintain a clean and organized workstation Only use personal electronics for listening purposes Other uses of personal electronics should wait until breaks Use of inclusive language and overall inclusive approach to others at work Flexibility and adaptability WEEKLY HOURS: Monday to Friday 9:30 AM to 6 PM 30 minute unpaid lunch 2 fifteen minute paid breaks. PAY AND BENEFITS: $18/hr Benefits include 100% paid for medical and dental insurance premiums, 401K and comprehensive retirement plan, vacation days, sick time, holiday pay, discounts on instruments, coverage for musician’s ear molds, and non-profit donation matching. Consider: Production Builders, after 3 months, have the opportunity to train to become Production Technicians so long as they are meeting or exceeding expectations. Fully trained Production Technicians start at $20/hr plus 100% covered medical and dental premiums and all of the other benefits. Note: Strict Covid Protocols will need to be adhered to. Everyone on our team is fully vaccinated and we update our building-wide mask policy based on current local information regularly. Anyone who is not vaccinated is required to be fully masked at all times they are present in the building.
