Murder Suspect Barricades Himself In Downtown Hotel Room

LOS ANGELES, CA — A murder suspect is in custody today following an hours-long standoff at a downtown hotel Wednesday. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers went to serve an arrest warrant on the murder susepct at the Wayfarer Hotel in the 800 block of South Flower Street, near Eighth Street, at about noon Wednesday. However, the man refused to come out and barricaded himself in the room. A SWAT Team was called to negotiate with him and spent nearly three hours getting him to surrender, according to Officer Jader Chaves. Tear gas was used to flush out the suspect, KNX-AM (1070) reported. Traffic was routed away from the area. City News Service
