Description
Press release from the Wright County Government:
September 23, 2021
Thanks to heavy rains over the past week-and-a-half, for the first time in two months, none of Wright County is deemed to be in severe or extreme drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
The entire state showed marked improvement in the last week on the five-point scale the Drought Monitor uses. The most severe category (D4 – Exceptional Drought) has dropped from 5.82 percent of the state to none, while the Extreme Drought category (D3) or worse has dropped from 36.14 percent to 23.58 percent.
Wright County is now in the D1 category (Moderate Drought), which is still below the average rainfall, but far less concerning that it has been since mid-July.
