MARIETTA, GA — Marietta Police Department officers are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash late Friday night, a MPD spokesperson announced Wednesday. A 46-year-old Hispanic male, whose name has not been released, was attempting to cross Powder Springs Street outside of a crosswalk around 9 p.m. Friday night, when he "darted out into the roadway," on-scene investigators said. He ran in front of a car driven by Angela Forman, 51, of Marietta, and she struck the man. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said in a Wednesday news release. While police identified the pedestrian, they are withholding his name until next-of-kin can be notified. The crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. B. Honea at 770-794-5344.
