Press release from the Tuscaloosa County Government: September 21, 2021 Congratulations to Caitlin Dufour and Daniel Hammett on being named Seminfinalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program! Both students are seniors at Tuscaloosa County High School. The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) serves as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Semifinalists have an opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, worth a total of nearly $30 million. Congratulations to Caitlin and Daniel on this accomplishment!
