Description

We are looking for OVER THE ROAD Pilot Car drivers escorting over dimensional loads. Person must be willing to be over the road covering up to 48 states and Canada. Our drivers stay out for long periods of time but we are flexible as to when you may need time off. A Pilot Car Driver is responsible for escorting the trucks to and from pickup and delivery locations. A Pilot Car Driver is also responsible for ensuring the safety of the traveling public, prevention of damage to the highway system and load being transported, and the reduction of any undue delay to the normal flow of traffic. Requirements: Valid Driver’s License- CDL Preferred Have a clean driving record and pass a pre-employment drug screening Knowledge of permits for oversize loads is preferred Flexible schedule to be over the road for extended periods of time to meet hauling requirements Excellent communication skills Assisting the truck driver with identifying traffic, obtaining lanes, load securement, and fuel Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships Some mechanical knowledge and ability preferred Assisting in other operational tasks as designated by supervisor
