Janitorial/Maintenance (Facilities Assistant) Primary Job Duties:
We are a nonprofit organization looking for a janitorial/maintenance person to work part-time hours on weekends. Job duties will include but not limited to:
• Setting up for events and meetings (moving chairs, tables, etc.) and responding to the needs of staff and event/meeting organizers
• Maintaining staff offices and libraries (including painting, cleaning, replacing trash cans/bags, etc.).
• Able to effectively communicate with supervisor, staff, and students to ensure safe operation of property maintenance.
• Performs regular inspections of the property and notifies supervisor of maintenance problems and recommends solutions.
• Daily property walk through clean up and ensuring property is in impeccable condition.
• Daily janitorial duties. Cleaning restrooms i.e (mopping floors, toilets, sinks, replacing toilet tissue/paper towels etc)
• Keeps storage utility room clean, organized, and safe.
• Updates management daily to report status of all scheduled work and work needed to maintain property in pristine condition.
Experience:
Must have at least two years of experience in building operations, janitorial, facilities experience, or equivalent. This position is part time, 6-16 hours a week. Must possess good communication skills and be proficient in English. This position regularly requires standing and lifting or moving items up to 75 pounds. The employee must be able to hear well enough to communicate with supervisor, co-workers, vendors and students. The employee is required to bend, climb ladders, sit, stoop, kneel or crouch, and use hands to handle, grasp or reach.
