Position Available: Virtual Gala Coordinator Reports To: Development Director: Special Events and Corporate Relations & Special Events Manager Job Status: Contract, part time from October 1 – 30 Compensation: $2,200-$2,400 DOE Schedule: Approximately 10-15 hours/week for first 3 weeks. Final week 30 hours, including time on Saturday, October 30 to support with day of event tasks and execution. Mutually agreed upon schedule, with about 50% of the work in the chapter headquarters. Contracted duties include, but are not limited to: - Request, track, secure, and log items for the silent and live auction - Request repeat donation from past auction supporters, and solicit new in-kind auction support - Package and photograph all auction items virtually on Great Giving, including writing descriptions, setting bid prices, packaging items together, photograph and publish to site - Coordinate chapter volunteers to help pick up items around the Portland Metro area and support with day of event - Support with the proofing, mailing, and distribution of all gala marketing materials Requirement - Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel - Experience using Greater Giving, or another auction software is preferred - Experience procuring auction items is preferred - Able to create and follow systematic processes to support the silent auction - Able to life 40 pounds or more - Able to use own vehicle for work and item pick up - Able to work in chapter office and remotely - Must be able to work with and coordinate chapter volunteer for the night of the gala on Saturday, October 30, 2021 The ALS Association Oregon and SW Washington Chapter is an equal opportunity employer and believes that each team member makes a significant contribution to our success.
