We are prepared to make more than one hire on either a short-term or longer-term basis. We have a 2-acre property in Happy Valley near SE 172 & SE Sunnyside. Our home and an office are on the property. We are looking for someone to tend to the property, perform odd jobs, and help with warehouse tasks. We are also remodeling a garage and there are projects related to that. We have 14-40 hours per week, more depending on the kind of work you are skilled at. Summer months tend to be more hours, but we can find a long-term full-time schedule for the right candidate. We are prepared to make more than one hire on either a short-term or longer-term basis. Remodel Tasks Coordinate with the primary contractor to schedule bids and work. Painting and drywall. Knowledge of building codes. Research building materials. Advise or lead on installing of flooring, tile and beadboard ceiling panels. Advise or lead install of pond upgrade. Gardener responsibilities include: Maintaining lawns and other green spaces using organic and natural methods Installing landscapes and seasonal flower designs. Monitoring and ensuring plant health. Watering and feeding plants, trimming trees and shrubs, fertilizing and mowing lawns, weeding gardens and keeping green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter. Mow, trim and fertilize green spaces. Mulch, edge and weed gardens. Prune and trim trees and bushes. Ultimately, you will make sure our gardens and green spaces are always healthy and beautiful. Maintenance & Other Responsibilities Maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers and fertilizers, while following health and safety regulations Install and maintain seasonal plants. Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter. Minor repairs. Maintain water features. Maintain outdoor furniture. Help with care for chickens. Run errands and meet with property-related contractors. Empty trash and recycling for the office. Move boxes manually and using a pallet jack. As needed office support for quality control and fulfillment. Requirements Experience as a Gardener. Familiarity with landscaping design. The ability to lift heavy objects. The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time. A love of the outdoors and plant life. Commitment to organic gardening. Carpentry or painting skills. A background check is required. Payment will be made via business check.
