Central Washington University presents the 3rd annual OctOboeFest NW, featuring Dr. Eric Ohlsson! Join us on October 9 for a full day of events, including presentations and performances by the region's university oboe teachers. The event also includes a recital and masterclass given by special guest artist Dr. Eric Ohlsson from Florida State University. The event will be a wonderful opportunity for high school, college, community, and regional oboe players and teachers to network, learn, and enjoy wonderful performances. Tentative Schedule of Events: 8:00-9:00: Open Registration 9:00-10:00: Presentation - Dr. Keri McCarthy, Washington State University 10:00-11:00: Presentation: Dr. Teodora Pejasinovic Proud, University of Idaho 11:00-12:00: Open Vendor Time 12:00-1:30: Lunch Break 1:30-2:30: Dr. Eric Ohlsson Recital 3:00-4:30: Dr. Eric Ohlsson Masterclass 5:00-6:00: Closing Concert Dr. Eric Ohlsson enjoys a significant musical career that is varied and far reaching in scope. He is dedicated to both performing and teaching on a national and international scale. His primary position is as the Charles O. DeLaney Professor of Oboe in the College of Music at Florida State University, a post he has held since 1986. Ohlsson performs regularly as principal oboist of the Tallahassee Symphony, the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra, and in the summer months, with the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, where he has been a member of the Artist Faculty since 1994.
