The Association for Preservation Technology: Eastern Great Lakes (APT EGL)Upcoming event information: Tour of the 75 Public Square North Building Cleveland, Ohio Date: Tuesday October 12, 2021 Time: 5:30- 7:00 pm EST Cost: FREE AIA Credit - 1 HSW PPE - This is a Hard Hat Tour - Please bring your own hard hats, Flat, hard soled shoes (no heels or tennis shoes), Vests and Glasses. COVID-19 Safety: In addition to the construction site safety protocols, we will be following the CDC and building specific guidelines. Participants must wear a face mask at all times and practice social distancing rules. APT EGL is excited to announce a Hard Hat Tour and information session on the historic renovation and adaptive reuse of the 75 Public Square North building in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the building, formerly known as the Electric Illuminating Company Building, is being converted from commercial office to multi-family residential use. This historic building is 15-stories and over 131,000 gross square feet and will incorporate 115 apartment units. The teams of Cleveland Construction Inc., Sandvick Architects and Barber and Hoffman Consulting Engineers will discuss the various aspects of the building's rehabilitation work which includes: the repair of the historic brick and terra cotta facades, new replacement windows designed to match the original appearance and configuration and fire and life safety initiatives designed to meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation.
