Trauma-informed care workshop designed to present an awareness level of the impact of trauma on a developing child. Reaching Kids with a Trauma HistoryTWO-DAY WORKSHOPOctober 18 and 19 / 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (both days)Trainers: David and Jayne Schooler "I don’t know how to manage Johnny in my ministry. What should I do with his disruptive behavior? " Do you have a Johnny in your class? "When Susie comes to our afterschool program, it takes her almost an hour to calm down. We don’t know what to do.” Do you have a Susie in your class? Adults working with children with a trauma history often express concerns and frustrations that they feel inadequate to meet the challenges of teaching and reaching kids with a traumatic past. Gaining knowledge and understanding of the needs of kids with a trauma history can make all the difference. In this two-day workshop, you will gain: An understanding of the impact of trauma on a developing child.An understanding of how to maximize a child's sense of felt safety. An understanding of how to cultivate healing connections.An understanding of how to help a child manage difficult behaviors.Who Should Attend?
