Description

You're invited to a super special event! Join Lydia Smith and me for a Drum Circle, Yoga, and a Cacao Gathering! Can I get a HELL YAY!! Group drumming can be a deeply nourishing and cleansing experience for the body & mind, as well as being immensely enjoyable. It has been practiced for millennia by indigenous cultures as a way to communicate with each other and our ancestors, celebrate, and mark important events in community life. There is power in drumming alone, and this can multiply on many levels in a group of drummers. And when done in conjunction with the ceremonial drinking of Cacao, we open the door for a deeply connecting and heart-opening experience. Cacao is an ancient plant-medicine, originally native to Central and South America, which has been used for medicinal, ritualistic, and spiritual purposes for almost 3000 years. What makes Ceremonial Cacao different from the cacao we find in our supermarkets is the way it has been grown, harvested, and prepared. The cacao I use is purchased locally from  Aruna Chocolates.  Aruna Chocolates are ethically sourced heirloom cacao and are harvested from Ecuadorian and Peruvian Farms. All ingredients which we source are 100% Organic, Vegan Friendly and Fair-Trade. It is..... Gluten-Free Dairy-Free Soy Free Refined Sugar-Free (some, no sugar at all) Machine & Haste Free My  journey to yoga began in 1974 when I luckily came across Richard Hittleman's book Yoga 28 Day Exercise Plan. It changed--no--it saved my life. Wanting to deepen my understanding about yoga, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in 2013 at Soul Space in Southington, CT.  I was also fortunate enough to train with Rolf Gates and Nikki Myers to get my Y12SR certification. I recently graduated with a certification in Yoga for Trauma with Lisa Danylchuk and studied with Karen Wells for a certification in Meditation.  My classes are heartfelt and intuitive, gently challenging, and deeply nourishing. By creating a safe space and emphasizing synchronization of breath with movement, I guide you to flow with more ease and grace while deepening your physical and spiritual practice. I use the teachings of Hatha Yoga, Y12SR training, Yoga4Trauma and meditation to promote a healthy, conscious lifestyle. When I am not teaching, you can find me volunteering at Furry Friends Foster and Rescue, sailing, hiking and eating!
