Boston FinTech Week Collaboration: FintechWomen, FintechWomen SU Chapter & Suffolk University's Center for Entrepreneurship
78% of American workers live paycheck to paycheck. Having the financial knowledge and skills to better understand one's financial situation and how that can be impacted by financial choices is key to managing this statistic.
Combining financial literacy with budgeting tools and providing Instant Cash, Brigit's co-founders Hamel Khotari and Zuben Mathews are on a mission to dramatically reduce financial stress for the 88M Americans who have poor or no credit.
Join us during Boston FinTech Week on Tuesday, September 28th at 12:30pm to hear how an idea became a thriving business while addressing one of society's imperatives.
About Hamel Kothari:
Hamel is the Co-founder and CTO of Brigit, a fintech company focused on improving the financial health of underserved customers by providing products that protect them from fees and get them access to new opportunities. Prior to founding Brigit, he was a team lead at Palantir Technologies, and a team lead at Two Sigma Investments, one of the world’s largest and most successful quantitative hedge funds. Hamel is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in Computer Science.
“I cofounded Brigit because I couldn’t bear to work on anything else. I know just how deeply financial stress can affect people’s lives — I’ve watched people I love struggle with it. Now I spend every day building a more financially inclusive world.”
