HOME PAGE The Club was created in 1990 by the native-born Yorkville/Kleindeutschland Historian, Kathy Jolowicz, to keep the German heritage alive. Little, or almost nothing is left of the once internationally famous landmark called Kleindeutschland. We get together with a native teacher, to better our knowledge of the German Language, in a. relaxed and pressure-free atmosphere with no books, exams, etc. Due to the Pandemic aftermath, we can only offer an Intermediate Adult Class. In this class, one must have a working knowledge of German at a B1-B2 level. It serves as an opportunity to refresh one’s German via requested grammar topics, conversation, and reading. Participants design the class according to their needs, and one may join during the semester at any time. A short phone conversation can determine if you can be comfortable in the class. You may be better than you think! We meet from 6:30-8:30, (mit Kaffeepause), on Thursdays beginning in Oktober, (date to be announced). course fee is $500.00 for the 15- week (30 hour) semester. So, if one has to miss a month of classes, there are still 11 weeks of classes to enjoy. We meet in Yorkville/Kleindeutschland on the Upper East Side near 86th Street. (location to be announced). We are not profit making and are solely supported by our member students. We are not a clinical classroom and are purely supplemental to German courses. We march in the German/American Steuben Parade behind our banner each year, and partake in German/American cultural events, and outings.
