ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Casey Schreiner is the founder of the web site Modern Hiker, which has been one of the most-read hiking blogs on the West Coast since it launched in 2006. Schreiner’s first book, Day Hiking Los Angeles was published in 2016. It takes readers onto 125 trails for all abilities throughout Southern California, while also providing insight into the natural and human history of this unique bioregion. His second book, Discovering Griffith Park, was published in 2020 and is a Los Angeles Times bestseller. It is the first ever in-depth guidebook for one of the largest and most-visited city parks anywhere in the United States. Schreiner is on the board of the American Hiking Society, Nature For All, and the Los Angeles Breakfast Club. He also works as a television writer and producer and splits his time between Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon. ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1925, the Los Angeles Breakfast Club still thrives with food, friendship, and fun. Our meetings are held in our clubhouse, Friendship Auditorium, located at 3201 Riverside Drive, near the corner of Los Feliz Boulevard, in Griffith Park. Best described as a variety show, attendees enjoy a catered breakfast, silly songs, club traditions, and an interesting presentation from a guest speaker.
