VACCINATION REQUIREMENT: Out of a concern for health and safety, we are requiring all attendees to be COVID vaccinated at least 14 days prior to visiting the LABC. Please bring your COVID vaccination card or digital record issued by the State of California or County of Los Angeles to the club the morning of your visit. We respectfully remind you that no guest will be admitted to the LABC without proof of full vaccination. ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Think you know everything there is to know about the largest city park in Los Angeles? The author of its first ever in-depth guidebook Discovering Griffith Park takes us on a journey throughout the park, opening museum doors and scrambling onto canyon floors in the brand new slideshow presentation “Griffith Park A to Z.” Learn about pioneering skydivers and elusive mountain lions, scale trains and quarry caves, hiking trails and renegade relay runs — and more! ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Casey Schreiner is the founder of the web site Modern Hiker, which has been one of the most-read hiking blogs on the West Coast since it launched in 2006. Schreiner’s first book, Day Hiking Los Angeles was published in 2016. It takes readers onto 125 trails for all abilities throughout Southern California, while also providing insight into the natural and human history of this unique bioregion. His second book, Discovering Griffith Park, was published in 2020 and is a Los Angeles Times bestseller. It is the first ever in-depth guidebook for one of the largest and most-visited city parks anywhere in the United States. Schreiner is on the board of the American Hiking Society, Nature For All, and the Los Angeles Breakfast Club. He also works as a television writer and producer and splits his time between Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon. ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1925, the Los Angeles Breakfast Club still thrives with food, friendship, and fun. Our meetings are held in our clubhouse, Friendship Auditorium, located at 3201 Riverside Drive, near the corner of Los Feliz Boulevard, in Griffith Park. Best described as a variety show, attendees enjoy a catered breakfast, silly songs, club traditions, and an interesting presentation from a guest speaker. TICKETS: Sales on Eventbrite close 48 hours before breakfast. Non-members are $25 and Members are $18, utilizing a special promo code. Please arrive between 6:45 - 7:00 AM sharp! Doors close at 7:15 AM. Your admission includes a buffet breakfast and enjoyment of our 96-year-old weekly variety show. The Los Angeles Breakfast Club, founded in 1925 by notable businessmen and entertainment icons, still thrives today with its eccentric traditions and good food.
