Description

Documentary and Discussion on living in the Inland Northwest and the impact of historical and recent events that shape our community. Many of us live and work here but do not know what has shaped and is shaping the culture and social realities of this region. This series is intended to create opportunities for thoughtful small group public discussions about some of the realities, challenges, and opportunities that are part of life in the inland Northwest. Small group discussions following documentary-viewing will be facilitated to help us think together and share our own experiences. Hosted by the Human Rights Education Institute, St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Museum of North Idaho. Human Rights Education Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting human rights for all citizens in our community through our efforts to strengthen the voices of those who otherwise may not have a strong voice, by promoting human dignity, and by encouraging a more just society. We provide cultural and historical educational opportunities for all age groups that promote embracing our differences. We teach that diversity is something we should value and not fear through exhibits, speakers, and educational programming. We also provide curriculum for teachers in our community that can be integrated into their daily classwork that promote dignity, compassion, and inclusion for all.
