The K9S 35-ft electric buses are equipped with a 266kWh iron phosphate battery and can be fully charged in less than 4 hours. The charging facility, installed with the help of Georgia Power, is situated just minutes away from the historic Macon-Bibb Terminal Station. The electric buses will provide Macon-Bibb County residents with quiet, zero-emission rides to their destinations. MTA currently has plans to add 2 more electric buses by the end of 2021. Up to $16 million, delivered over the next five years, for public transportation and alternative fuels will be headed for Macon-Bibb County if the federal infrastructure bill passes.
