"Pens of the Pandemic" Book Launch, Reading & Celebration Join us for a beautiful, outdoor celebration at the Lafayette Public Amphitheater, with a reading by some of the amazing young writers featured in our 4th student anthology, Pens of the Pandemic. This 260-page anthology featuring 159 stories, essays and poems from 80 young writers is but a small sampling of all the incredible writing we collected on our blog, Pens of the Pandemic, over the course of the past 18 months of lockdown. In this book, you will get a glimpse into the inspiring courage, creativity and resiliency of young people. This event is $5 for adults and free for anyone 21 or under. Please help us get a headcount by securing your tickets in advance. If your child's writing is included in this anthology, please confirm whether or not your child would like to read at the event by securing their (FREE!) "ticket" as a Young Author/Reader. (This will help us determine the lineup!) To protect everyone's health during COVID, we will not be serving food or drinks. Masks will be required and we will be selling TIWP masks at the entrance if you forget your own. Everyone is welcome to bring their own water bottle or refreshment of choice! We will also be selling fun TIWP swag and auctioning off some beautiful handmade quilts, so bring cash and your checkbook! All proceeds from sales of this book and everything related to this event will go to our Diverse Voices Fund, providing need-based tuition for minority youth. The Intuitive Writing Project is an educational nonprofit located in the SF Bay Area. We are dedicated to supporting the next generation of visionary female leaders, empowering teenage girls to find their voice and speak their truth through writing.
