Trinity Presbyterian Church of Berwyn's Mission Committee is sponsoring a Block Party to benefit the Children’s Dental Clinic. The event is scheduled for Saturday, 10/16/2021 from noon to 4:00 PM. The rain date is 10/23/2021. Trinity’s latest service project with the Children’s Dental Clinic touches on ministries that are at our core: supporting children and supporting our community. Dental health is directly connected to mental health, particularly in children. Being able to smile boosts self-confidence and helps kids connect with friends, teachers and parents. We live in a great, but highly competitive school district. Poor dental health has been linked to poor academic performance and negative behavioral changes because children with poor oral health often miss more school and receive lower grades than children who are healthy. Smiling also relieves stress by releasing endorphins and serotonin, which are the main chemicals that boost our moods. There are so many reasons to support the Children’s Dental Clinic. They provide preventive and restorative dental care to children who otherwise would not have access to dental treatment.
