SILVER SPRING, MD — A woman says she was on the third floor of her Silver Spring home on the afternoon of Sept. 14 when she saw a man walk out of her front door with a bag. She called the police and gave them a physical description. Montgomery County Police went to her Whitehall Drive home and found signs of forced entry on one of the basement windows.
While checking around the house, police say they saw a man laying down in a wooded area behind the home. When they began to approach, he ran, and was apprehended by the police on Stewart Lane, Montgomery County Police said.
Dennis Adonay Guilez, 19, has been charged with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property.
Police did not say what Guilez took. They said they retraced his steps and found a knife and hammer in the wooded area where they first saw him.
