Position Description
The VGC Laborer’s responsibility is to uphold manual labor expectations, report job progress, uphold VGC Safety Procedures, and assist with timely completion of the project.
o Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
o Help equipment operator, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
o Load or unload construction materials.
o Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding.
o Perform site clean-up.
o Understand and maintain Venture Safety Program standards.
o Monitor general condition items such as tools, cleaning supplies, safety masks, etc.
o Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
o Monitor the work to assure good quality control, and to make certain that work conforms to all plans and specifications and is of good workmanship.
o Assist the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent for documentation and the timely completion of the project punch list.
o Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirement
o High School Diploma or GED required.
o One year of experience working in the construction industry preferred.
o Knowledge of jobsite safety procedures.
o Knowledge of commercial and multi-family construction techniques, tools and equipment.
o Basic knowledge of computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
o Thorough understanding of correct and safe operation of all related tools and equipment.
