BROOKFIELD, CT — A Brookfield woman who was pulled from the surf on the Jersey Shore after getting caught in a rip current on Saturday has died, according to a report. Emergency medical services workers had revived the 27-year-old Brookfield woman after she was dragged into the ocean along Ortley Beach on Saturday. The unidentified Brookfield woman had gone under the water multiple times and appeared to be not moving, according to police. Emergency workers from the Seaside Heights Fire Department were eventually able to pull her out of the water and bring her back to shore via a rescue wave runner, where they were able to regain a pulse. The woman was among a group of four people who got caught in the rip current about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, police said. She was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River where she succumbed to her injuries.
