11 Arrested In New Brunswick Cocaine, Heroin Takedown

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — New Brunswick Police, officers with the Department of Homeland Security and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) executed search warrants at five New Brunswick homes last Thursday, and arrested 11 people in total who they said were selling heroin and cocaine. A number of illegal guns were also found, including a machine gun. Children were also present when some of the homes were raided. This was the culmination of a long-term narcotics investigation that spanned the past several months, conducted by New Brunswick Police, the county prosecutor, Homeland Security and ATF agents. New Brunswick Police called the illegal drug takedown "a team effort." The apartments and homes raided were on Wright Place, Guilden Street, Handy Street, Joyce Kilmer Avenue and Reservoir Avenue. A "significant" amount of suspected heroin, cocaine and drug-related contraband and paraphernalia was recovered from the addresses along with two firearms, ammunition and cash believed to be associated from the illegal drug sales.
