LITTLETON, CO — The Littleton Immigrant Resources Center stands to lose the $150,000 it receives annually, Colorado Community Media reported. On Sept. 11, the Littleton City Council voted 5-2 to move ahead with cutting funding to the center, which is the city's only affordable resource center for immigrants seeking citizenship, according to the news outlet. The Council will formally vote on the move in October. Mayor Pro Tempore Scott Melin, who along with Councilor Kelly Milliman supported funding the center, said in an interview with Colorado Community Media that he's disappointed in the Council's decision. "This is a program that's in place right now to make our community more diverse and more inclusive," Melin said in the interview. "It's an important symbol." Read more from Colorado Community Media.
