JERSEY CITY, NJ — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating an incident that left a Jersey City construction worker pinned under a scaffolding on a county site on Monday afternoon.
Jersey City fire crews were the first to reposed to the emergency call around 1:30 p.m. on Monday at 600 Newark Avenue. Firefighters found the man pinned under scaffolding and were able to quickly and safely remove him, according to Jersey City Spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.
The man, a 44-year-old worker on the site, had been working on the scaffolding when it collapsed, Wallace-Scalcione said. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The lot is across the street from the Hudson County Courthouse and administrative buildings.
