Mobile Home Destroyed By Fire On I-10 In Thermal

THERMAL, CA — A mobile home that erupted into flames Wednesday morning on eastbound 10 in Thermal will take a while to get towed off the road. The blaze was reported at 8:26 a.m. west of Cottonwood Springs Road. When firefighters got to the burning RV they found it "fully involved in fire," according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby vegetation and no injuries were reported. According to the California Highway Patrol, available tow trucks to haul away the burnt wreckage were tough to come by Wednesday morning. Several companies could not handle the large job or were tied up on other tow calls. The burnt-out rig was expected to be hauled away by this afternoon, according to the CHP.
