NAPERVILLE, IL — Two Illinois residents were arrested Tuesday on charges linked to the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Dawn Frankowski, 53, of Naperville, and David W. Wiersma, 66, of Posen, were charged with disorderly and disruptive conduct and entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds. A person who worked with Wiersma reported him to the FBI after seeing Wiersma post on Facebook Jan. 6 about getting into the capitol building, according to a complaint filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. The post read, in part, "Spent about 30 minutes inside and got out before the SWAT team went in." Wiersma's post continued, "By the time we got there, it was like going to the shopping mall. People talking and joking with police just coming and going. " via U.S. Department of Justice Photographs and live videos were also posted on other Facebook accounts that belong to Wiersma, the complaint alleges. The complaint further contends that Wiersma admitted to attending a rally in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6, but would not comment on social media posts without his attorney present. Federal agents were led to Frankowski after she was tagged to a Facebook profile with the name "Dawn MAGA" in one Wiersma's images, the complaint states. Wiersma and Frankowski communicated by phone "frequently" and went to the Capitol riot together, according to the complaint. According to federal agents, Frankowski admitted she and Wiersma entered the capitol building and were inside for about 30 minutes. In July, a Crest Hill couple was arrested on similar charges linked to the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.
